SUSHI HAYASHI: Reviews & Ratings
It is very rare that I’m impressed with food, the food here is astonishingly brilliant. Service is excellent, free parking is 2 stalls in front on the property, off the city street. Everything is clean, simple, warm and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable, serving size is very generous. Thank you!
Super friendly and welcoming staff, the lady who tended to us was so sweet! Food was great, I think their prices are fair to the value and taste of their food. Their menu has a large variety of choices, and their portions definitely made me full. The place is clean and decorated very nicely. 10/10 would come back again!
Excellant Chef and happy friendly front end Service, Fabulous Food, fresh, beautiful presentation flavour the Volcano Roll was fantastic yummy - exceptional taste wow ! Lovely dishes and the little extra touches that shows they care and are passionate about what they create. Little edible cucumber, carrots carvings. Their ginger is the best I’ve had! Tje mixed 1/2 order Tempura had great batter flavour. Mmmm! Well worth it! We will be back !! Enjoy! Louise L.
Atmosphere: simple yet cozy and welcoming place. The service was excellent, all the staff were friendly and polite. Clean washroom. Food: sashimi 18 pieces was served very aesthetically and delicately. Seafood pieces, tuna and salmon were fresh. Miso soup was very tasty. Rainbow sushi was wrapped very delicately. Price: for the quality food it was very reasonable. The owner told us that the chef has taken a 2 year culinary course at Tokyo’s most prestigious culinary school.
I’ve been here twice already—it’s a great sushi spot with a warm, family-like atmosphere. The food is fresh, well-prepared, and consistently delicious. The ambiance is calm and quiet, perfect for a relaxed meal. Everything is also spotlessly clean, which leaves a great overall impression.
We arrived at 4:45, placed our order at 4:50, and were told the wait would be 30 minutes. We ended up waiting 50–65 minutes before all the dishes were finally served. The waiter wasn’t in a hurry to do anything — clear the table, refill water, or even say a word after dropping the plates off. The food was tasty, though, and the sushi presentation was really fun. They even made a little carrot butterfly — super cute. Overall, a mixed impression of this place.
Food. Service. Presentation. 10s across the board. A delicious local spot. Service of dishes is spaced out well as the chef curates each dish with precision and detail. It’s tucked in a quiet location and allows for a slow paced dining experience to catch up with company. I left very pleased.
I’ve been to Hayashi a few times, and it’s always been great! I think it has the best katsu in Kelowna! I highly recommend the lunchtime bento box; it’s such a good deal. Their katsu is excellent, and the sunomono salad is huge and incredibly refreshing. The sushi is good, but when I come here, I usually go for the tonkatsu set (though I wish it came with rice instead of having to order it on the side) or the katsu don! I recommend you try it out!
